 MMA - MIXED MARTIAL ARTS

MMA is a full contact combat sport combining numerous techniques from multiple martial arts disciplines. Our MMA classes teach the use of both striking and grappling techniques, both standing and on the ground. This combining (or mixing) of techniques from a variety of combat sports defines the term Mixed Martial Arts. The combat sport of Vale Tudo (Free Fight) that had developed in Brazil from the 1920s was brought to the United States by the Gracie family in 1993 with the founding of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

 NOGI - SUBMISSION WRESTLING

No-Gi, also known as Submission wrestling, is very similar to a regular BJJ class. This class doesn’t require the use of a kimono. You can wear shorts, skin-tight clothing such as rash guards and mixed short clothes. From a combat perspective, the main differences between regular BJJ classes and No-Gi classes are the allowed techniques such foot-locks and neck cranks. Most of them are allowed in No-Gi, whereas in BJJ, foot-locks and neck cranks are limited.
